Instructional technologies continue to expand and advance in their sophistication, application and scope and anecdotal evidence reveals that on The UWI Mona campus, faculty have been requesting training for and have been engaging students with a number of these long-standing and emerging technologies. The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in collaboration with the Office of Online Learning (OOL), Mona has complied a "UWI Mona-appropriate" list of the top 10 (+1) technologies for 21st century instruction. The list of technologies was created based primarily on anecdotal evidence, but also from data collected from evaluation surveys, consultations and informal discussions. In this discussion, we present the top 10 (+1) technologies, give a definition/description, offer some practical tips for using these tools (best practices) and share demonstrations of use/preparation where applicable.
