Tomei (2013) explored what he dubbed the top ten technologies for designing 21st century instruction within his North American teaching and learning context. These instructional technology within his North American teaching and learning context. These instructional technology tools provide opportunities for advancing teaching and learning experiences, can increase students' participation levels and facilitate differentiated learning. In 2017, Tomei revised his list of top ten tools to reflect technologies which were pervasively being used during the period.
