The Institute’s Library was established in 1966 by way of a special grant from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a gift of UN documents. Today, the Library houses a comprehensive collection of information resources on international relations, with a focus on material covering the Caribbean and Latin American region.
The Library was renamed the Norman Girvan Library on June 21st, 2016 to posthumously honour the late Jamaican Professor, Norman Girvan, Professor Emeritus and Professorial Research Fellow of the Institute.
