Interlibrary loan allows a patron to request through his/her local library materials from, or supplies to, another library. The purpose of interlibrary loan is to make available to patrons upon request, materials not available in the local library.

If you need further information on how to search for library resources, you can speak directly to a librarian by visiting your campus library's reference desk or connect with a librarian of your choice from the link below.

Requesting the Materials Needed

The University of the West Indies Library provides you with a variety of information sources.  Knowing how to search for the information you want will save you a great deal of time and provide you with excellent information to enrich your knowledge.

The library user should know how to search for information in the library.  This can be done by getting the needed assistance from the librarian.

The patron can submit the interlibrary loan request either manually or electronically.

Find out from the librarian about cost involved for the service and time period the process will take.
