Brief Biography

DR. ROSHAN A. PARASRAM (Medical Doctor)

Doctor of Science (DSc)

Dr. Roshan Parasram is a physician and Public Health Consultant working as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago.  As CMO, he is the national focal point as it relates to the International Health Regulations.  Accordingly, he is the Chairman of the Multi-Sectoral Committee to Treat with COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) and any Emerging Infectious Diseases.  Dr. Parasram is an alumnus of The University of the West Indies, having completed his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery at the St. Augustine Campus.  He then went on to complete a postgraduate diploma followed by a Master of Public Health, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the University of London. He also holds a certificate in Public Procurement Law and Practice from York University, Canada.  Dr. Parasram is the Chairman of various national committees including the Arboviral Committee and the Antibiotics Committee.  Regionally, he is a member of the Steering Committee of CARICOM’s Caribbean Cooperation in Health Phase IV – 2016-2025 (CCH IV).
