The UWI 3MT® Competition Edition

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Education (EdD) students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. The competition will challenge students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries, and explain them concisely and effectively in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Benefits in Participating

In addition to monetary awards, this is an opportunity for The UWI graduate students to:

  • Demonstrate key attributes of the ideal UWI graduate.
  • Cultivate and improve their academic skills in research presentation, and effective communication.
  • Promote their research projects to a wider community.
  • Be exposed to diverse career opportunities and other postgraduate opportunities, such as research funding.
