Alums are allowed to visit the Library once they have registered with the UWI St Augustine Alumni Association.
Omega Members (Annual, Life, Associate, and Honorary) of The University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAA) have access to the Alma Jordan Library's resources for reading and reference purposes only. Proof of membership is required before a user can be registered, and access is granted for the period of the membership.
Alumni have reading privileges only. Access to borrowing privileges is restricted to currently enrolled students, staff and faculty of the St Augustine Campus.
The Circulation and Access Services (C&AS) Division at the Alma Jordan Library offers access to Computing Services. Computers with access to library resources and the Internet are available; wireless access is also via the campus. These services include:
Internet resources
Specialised databases and electronic journals
The online catalogue (OPAC)
Productivity applications (Microsoft Office; SPSS; Endnote)
Wireless networking services
Printing (black & white; colour)
UWI Alumni must apply for access and complete a Computing Services Request Form at the Help Desk. The Staff at the Circulation and Access Services (C&AS) Division will contact applicants (generally within 24 hours) regarding the outcome of the application.
The Library offers a range of reprographic services, including self-service photocopying machines that use copy cards. Scanning services and printing from microfilm are available exclusively for the resources located in the West Indiana and Special Collections Division. Copying by or for the patron is done for the purposes of private study, scholarship, or research and in keeping with intellectual property guidelines.
You may receive reference assistance locating information or materials related to your research interests.
