The Commonwealth Oral History Project is funded by the Arts and History Research Council. The aim of this project is the production of a unique digital research resource on the oral history of the Commonwealth since 1965, by interviewing leading figures in the history of the organization.
There are more than 70 interviews available in the electronic transcript form on the Project website. Most are also available in audio form. The list of interviewees include The Most Hon. P.J. Patterson and The Most Hon. Edward Seaga.
Sir Shridath was the second Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, and remains the longest serving with 15 years in office. The transcript of his interview conducted in two sittings by Dr. Sue Onslow, is fascinating. Sonny was already in his 80s at the time of the interviews, and his intellect and insight are undimmed by age.
