Booklists

SUBMITTING BOOKLISTS

You are advised to submit booklists by March 31st each year to the Medical Sciences Library.

 

Please submit booklists even though changes may not have been made to the list of titles from the preceding year. Early submission enables sufficient time to process the lists and to acquire the most recent editions of titles, well in advance of the start of the new academic year.

 

Please use the Booklist template (below) and email / mail the completed form to the Library.

EXAM PAPERS

To view past exam papers online click here. Kindly note that exam papers are uploaded by the staff of the Alma Jordan Library. You are advised to send those past papers which you want to make available to students in pdf format to this email address: pastpapers@library.uwi.tt

ORDERING AND DONATING MATERIALS

REQUESTING MATERIALS
The Library purchases requested materials, in accordance with its budget, to support the taught curriculum at the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
To help the Library prioritize these requests, you need to indicate the reason why this material should be added to the collection. You may also contact your subject librarians for book/journal/databases recommendations.

DONATING MATERIALS TO THE LIBRARY

You are encouraged to collaborate with the MSL Librarians to select resources in your discipline. The Library also welcomes gifts of materials which will enrich the collection and support teaching and research programmesat the UWI. We particularly welcome donations of manuscripts and other materials of significance to research on the Caribbean. Please contact our Librarians should you require further assistance.

Donating to The Alma Jordan Library

 

 

SEMINAR ROOMS

The Library currently offers Seminar Rooms 1, 2, 3, 6 and 008 for PBL classes. 

Requests are directed to the Dean's Office before the start of each semester

 to ensure that proper allocations are made.

 

Note:  a Postgraduate Study Room is now available (located in the 24/7 area)

NEW COURSES, SYLLABUS/COURSE CHANGES, HIGHER DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Faculty members must  liaise with the Reference and Loans Librarians when amending existing or developing new course offerings or new programmes. This ensures that an adequate print and electronic resource base is established to support teaching and research.

 

4-STEP PROCEDURE FOR ALL PROPOSALS
1. Complete the New Teaching Proposal Form  (US38I) Download the US38I form
2. Attach the relevant booklist
3. Submit to the Reference and Loans Librarians
4. Indicate where necessary if the proposal is for a graduate / undergraduate research programme.


WHAT THE LIBRARY DOES

The Library will provide a copy of its evaluation as an impact statement to the Faculty Member, the Head of Department, the Dean, the Bursar and the Chair of the Academic Quality Assurance Committee (AQAC) and Campus Coordinator for Graduate Studies and Research.
