The Elsa Goveia Collection

On show are nineteen historical pictures from a photograph album in the Professor Elsa Goveia online collection. These images show Goveia in the academic and socio-political activism for which she is known, but they also give a rare glimpse into her early years. A bio-bibliography also complements this online collection, giving some background on the revered Professor Elsa Goveia and highlighting her publications, lecturers and other achievements in West Indian history research. The Elsa Goveia collection housed at The UWI Mona Library spans some nine archival boxes, and these are in the process of being digitized to better improve research and scholarship.
