Time - 3.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m

The Library at the Institute of International Relations (IIR) offers an afternoon orientation programme for all newly recruited students reading for degrees offered at the IIR. The programmme falls within the larger IIR orientation programme  for new students.

The Library orientation programme has three parts:
•       a staff introduction which offers a welcome
•       a library introduction that answers the questions, 'who are we', 'what do we do' and 'why are we different', and,
•       a round robin library tour which guides new students through specialised library services.

The session ends with a memorable role-play and info-talk with Library staff randomly selecting students to demonstrate the do’s and don’ts of the IIR Library (using ID cards, paying fines, mutilating resources etc).
